QLXpro ministation: Hardware

top rear

Overview

The QLX pro ministation is a small and (physically) lightweight thin client. It has no serial or parallel ports and there is a single USB port at the front right-hand side. The manufacturer's website (http://www.qlxpro.com/ - vanished when last checked) lists only a single product. This looks like it may be a repackaged version of this product. There is no manufacturing date on the unit but the internal software returns a build date of 05.30.05(CE).

As you can see from the photograph the ministation is based on an Altera Cyclone Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) - an EP1C12. There is obviously great potential for repurposing with such a flexible device - but it is not trivial! As yet I haven't delved further into this thin client.
